Photography Workshop – 10 Weeks
This workshop is a fun, 10 weeks online course jam-packed with information. You will receive a weekly lesson, assignment and study guide that will give you a clear understanding of exposure. It includes the technical and creative side of photography. As a participant in this class, you will have access to the workshop website which includes space to upload your assignments for critique, as well as a forum to talk with all participants in the program. If you’ve already taken the Basic Digital Photography class, you know that learning photography takes time. If you want to master your camera, you won’t regret the commitment to this class. The weekly lessons are filled with information that you will print and keep in a 3-ring binder. After 10 weeks, you will have a wealth of information to refer back to. The next scheduled 10-week workshop starts on February 6th, 2012 and March 19, 2012. You can sign up on the schedule here.
Where are the workshops held?
The workshops are held online.
What if I miss a week?
You can make up a week the next week. You may also go 2 weeks past the 10 week time frame if needed to finish and/or catch up.
Do I have to log on at a particular time each week?
No, you do not have to be online at a certain time to participate in the class. You can log on any time during the week and participate in the forums.
Will there be assignments?
Yes, you will receive your weekly lesson and assignment each Monday. You will upload your assignments to the website at the end of the week.
How experienced do I need to be to take this course?
Beginners are welcome – the materials take you from the basics and up. Intermediate photographers are also welcome. Intermediate photographers will experience some topics as a review, but most likely from a fresh perspective, as well as learning a lot of new things as well.
What if I’m unsure of committing to turning in assignments each week and just want to study along? Is there a discount for that?
Yes, if you want to study only, you can participate in the class (as well as the online forum) as an “under-study” and the cost is only $229.00. I do not evaluate assignments or provide critiques, but you do have the opportunity to work at your own pace. The materials provided are the same.
What kind of a camera do I need?
You will need a DSLR camera for the class.
What if I have questions throughout the course?
There is a Question & Answer section on the website that you can post to – I will be with you the entire 10 weeks to assist with any questions.
Can I upload more images than are assigned for critique?
Yes, you will be able to upload a total of three additional photos to the Photo Critique board for instructor review and feedback.
Can participants share photos?
Yes! We have a “Picture-a-Day” board where you can post some of your favorite photos to share.
